My road to becoming the owner and creator of a chocolate company has the pattern of the gently rolling hills of the Palouse in Eastern Washington where I spent my early life. Just when I thought a decision would take me one direction, I would end up with an entirely different view, needing new decisions and a new direction.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree at Washington State University then lived and traveled in Europe. I moved to Seattle when returning to the states were I met and married Guy Peckham. I decided to get a masters degree not as an architect but as a marriage and family therapist.
Our first daughter, Claire, was born not long after graduation. After Claire's birth, Guy and I made truffles as Christmas gifts one year. They were so well received that I had requests for more. I found myself developing a growing delight in learning and exploring every aspect of chocolate. I took classes, experimented, researched, tasted many varieties and eventually ended up with a business.
Heavenly Chocolates has been growing and changing since 1991- so has our family. The new millennium brought us another daughter, Caitlin. She adores chocolate more than the rest of us combined and already has a discerning chocolate palette.
Blessings
Exploring the Blessing part of these creations has been so much fun, I have decided to take some space to describe this process.
First, I believe that wonderful, soul-satisfying food is a result of fine ingredients, knowledge, and the attitude of those creating it. With trial and error over the last 10 years, I discovered that the truffles tasted best when I consciously remembered how much joy I feel when working with chocolate. I learned to only work with chocolates when aligned with this joy and love. I have always thought that "joy and love" were the secret ingredients that set my chocolates apart.
After realizing that joy and love impacted the chocolates, I began to wonder if other vibrations could be added. I then started making ganaches with the intention the Love, Light, Peace and Joy be present.
As I practiced this approach on batch after batch, I noticed that each ganache would hold these higher vibrations as well as add its own unique energetic quality which I would describe as the following:

Amaretto - Portal to Awe
(an almond shaped window into Awe)
Chocolate - Pure Love
(like being engulfed in white/pinkish light from head to toe. It radiates from the heart)
Grand Marnier - Aligning Self with the Divine
(sacred geometric grids aligning you with your Higher Self)
Mint - Joy
(happily spinning spirals)
Mocha - Deep Grounding
(like a well-rooted tree)
Raspberry - Love
(sensual love and creativity)
Toffees - fun, Delight
(dolphin-like energy)
Working with these energetics has opened me to a delightful new world. I invite you to explore these energetic qualities with me.
